El Floridita is a rum drink named after the legendary bar in Havana, Cuba. This drink was the signature back in the days of 1930s at this particular bar.

 

Not to be confused with the HEMINGWAY DAIQUIRI, this drink does NOT contain any grapefruit juice, and DOES have sugar in it.

RECIPE

2oz (60mL) white rum

0.5oz (15mL) lime juice

1 bar spoon simple syrup

1 bar spoon maraschino liqueur

Shake all ingredients together in a shaker with crushed ice, and then serve in a chilled coupe glass

Garnish: Lime wheel

This is a great cocktail to have during the summer time. The simple and elegant daiquiri, just has a slight twist in flavor for this rendition. Beautiful drink either way!
