Mark Pickford cocktail, rum classic during Prohibition. This drink comes from Cuba, and trust me, it tastes better than the specifications sounds!
HISTORY
This drink was made at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba (Havana, Cuba) for actress Mary Pickford. She was traveling with Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks at the time.
It is said that the drink was made for her by either bartender Eddie Woelke or Fred Kaufman (the history is unclear). This was in the early 1920s, where many celebrities travelled to Cuba to experience a great (legal) drinking culture during Prohibition in the US.
RECIPE
This is an “up” cocktail, served in a coupe glass.

1 bar spoon (2.5mL) grenadine
1 bar spoon (2.5mL) maraschino liqueur
